Best Session Vaporizers (2026): Sit Back, Load Up, Enjoy
Session vaping is the joint replacement. Load a bowl, draw for fifteen minutes, enjoy the ritual. Here are the ten I trust.

Session vaping is what most people imagine when they think about vaping — and for good reason. It's accessible, it's social, it's forgiving, and it's how about 70% of my cannabis consumption happens. Load a bowl, draw for ten to fifteen minutes, enjoy the ritual.
- Top pick: Arizer Solo 3 v2 (£217.99, 9.2/10) — glass-path purity, two vapes in one body.
- Best value: Arizer Solo 2 MAX (£128.99, 8.8/10) — the same legendary Arizer flavour with USB-C, at almost half the price.
- Avoid if… you take quick hits throughout the day rather than settling in — you want on-demand, not session. Start with my Session vs On-Demand explainer.
If you're replacing spliffs, session is almost certainly what you want.
Arizer Solo 2 MAX
Same legendary Arizer flavour with USB-C. The price-to-performance king.
Arizer Air MAX
Swappable 26650s. Festival-proof. Never tethered to a charger.
What This Guide Is (And Isn't)
Session vaping is the default for a reason. It's how most people consume cannabis — settle in, light up (or in our case, heat up), enjoy the ritual for ten to fifteen minutes, done. The technique transfers directly from joints and spliffs. The social element works — pass it to a mate, no tutorial required.
I wrote the companion on-demand guide for the espresso crowd — quick hits, microdosing, efficiency obsessives. This guide is the pint. Load a bowl, commit to the session, enjoy the ride.
Who this is for: Beginners. Social vapers. People transitioning from smoking. Anyone who wants to load a bowl and zone out without thinking about technique, draw speed, or combustion risk. If your ideal evening involves a loaded vape, something decent on the telly, and fifteen minutes of not thinking about anything — session vaping is your category.
How I Test (And the OG Kush Benchmark)
Every device on this list gets at least two to four weeks of daily-driver duty before I score it. I test each at three temperatures (175°C for terps, 185-200°C for the sweet spot, 200-215°C for full extraction).
The constant strain across all my testing is OG Kush — a heavy-leaning indica with a distinctive lemon-pine-fuel signature that stress-tests the full extraction range. Same supplier, same grind, same load, same temperature ladder, every device.
This is my personal benchmarking framework, used to make scoring less of a vibe and more of a measurement against a known reference. Full methodology →
What Makes a Great Session Vape?
Not every session vape is equal. Here's what separates the good from the great.
Consistent heating over five to fifteen minutes. The whole point of session is that you're drawing over an extended period. Great session vapes hold temperature precisely — no hot spots, no drop-off, no weird fluctuations that change the experience mid-bowl. The Mighty+ is the benchmark here because every single draw tastes the same.
Battery life measured in sessions. If your session vape dies after two bowls, it's failed at its primary job. You want six to ten bowls minimum from a charge. The Crafty+'s 4-5 bowls is its biggest weakness. The Venty's 10-14 is why it's the premium pick.
Comfort and ergonomics. You're holding this for ten to fifteen minutes. Sharp edges, excessive weight, awkward grip angles — they all matter more in session than on-demand.
Shareability. Can you pass it to a mate without a five-minute briefing? Session vapes should be "draw and pass" simple. No technique explanations.
Bowl size that matches session length. Too small and the bowl is spent in three minutes. Too large and you're wasting herb. 0.15-0.25g is the sweet spot for most session devices — enough for a ten-to-fifteen-minute experience without overloading.

The Top Picks In Detail
1. Arizer Solo 3 v2 — Best Overall Session 9.2/10
The vape that finally lives up to Arizer's promise. Hybrid heating that delivers, all-glass vapour path, and two modes (session and on-demand) in one body. Highest overall score in this guide. The session is consistent across ten to fifteen minutes, the flavour is unmatched, and the build is bulletproof Arizer-spec.
Best for: Flavour purists, daily session vapers, anyone who wants the best portable session vape full stop. Skip if: pocket size matters more than session quality, or you're new to vaping (the Mighty+ is more forgiving).
| Heat-up | 5-15 seconds |
| Battery | 10-12 bowls/charge |
| Oven | 0.3 g standard / 0.5 g XL stem |
| Heating | Hybrid (80% convection / 20% conduction) |
| Warranty | 2 yr materials + lifetime heating element |
Pros: all-glass vapour path delivers the cleanest terpene expression in any portable; hybrid heater is fast and forgiving without sacrificing flavour; two modes in one device; USB-C with pass-through charging; glass stems ISO-soak in 30 seconds. Cons: glass stems break (budget for spares); not pocket-portable; the price puts it past the £200 threshold for many; on-demand mode rewards technique.
OG Kush — 9.0/10. At 180°C the lemon-pine top notes come through clean for the first three draws. At 195°C myrcene fullness layers in. At 210°C the fuel character arrives properly. AVB even medium-dark brown.
2. Arizer Solo 2 MAX — Best Value Session 8.8/10
The session vape that shouldn't make sense for the money. Same all-glass vapour path as the Solo 3, USB-C charging, 14-16 bowls per charge, and a chassis that survives years of daily use. Beats devices twice its price on every objective measure.
Best for: Value hunters, beginners with a budget, anyone whose first portable should be brilliant. Skip if: you want hybrid on-demand mode (Solo 3 v2) or stealth pocket-size — see Best Portable Vaporizers.
| Heat-up | <30 seconds |
| Battery | 14-16 bowls/charge |
| Oven | 0.3 g |
| Heating | Pure convection (session-only) |
| Warranty | 2 yr + lifetime heating element |
Pros: same glass-path Arizer DNA as the Solo 3 at almost half the price; marathon 14-16 bowl battery; pass-through charging makes it a quasi-desktop at home; auto-inverting display flips for water-pipe use; cleaning is genuinely 30 seconds. Cons: session-only (no on-demand mode); 30-second heat-up feels slow next to hybrids; glass stems break if dropped on tile; portability 6.5/10.
OG Kush — 8.0/10. Same glass DNA as the Solo 3 v2 — limonene and pinene read cleanly across the first three draws. AVB even medium-brown.
3. Arizer Air MAX — Best Festival / Travel Session 8.6/10
The festival-proof session vape. Swappable 26650 cells mean four batteries and 16+ bowls of session. Same glass-path Arizer DNA, same forgiving session experience. Battery 9.0/10. Ease of Use 9.5/10 — joint-highest in this lineup, tied with the Solo 2 MAX.
Best for: Festival-goers, travellers, medical users who want long-term battery economics. Skip if: stealth matters or you want faster heat-up.
| Heat-up | <60 seconds |
| Battery | ~10 bowls per 26650 cell (swappable) |
| Oven | 0.25 g |
| Heating | Convection (Solo-style) |
| Warranty | 2 yr + lifetime heating element |
Pros: swappable 26650 batteries — festival-proof, indefinite lifespan; same all-glass path as the Solo family; Battery 9.0/10, Ease of Use 9.5/10; cells are generic, buy replacements anywhere for around £15. Cons: 26650 cells make the device chunky; chassis design hasn't changed in years; heat-up isn't the quickest in this price band.
OG Kush — 8.0/10. Glass vapour path preserves the sweet-woody top excellently. Larger oven geometry favours OG's denser bud structure. Full extraction at 210°C. AVB even medium-dark brown.
4. Storz & Bickel Venty — Best S&B Power Session 9.0/10
The Range Rover Sport of session vapes. 20 lpm airflow (triple the Mighty+), 20-second heat-up, 10-14 bowls per charge, S&B engineering. Pricey, premium, polished.
Best for: Power users with high tolerance, S&B loyalists, anyone who wants the absolute best portable airflow. Skip if: budget matters (the Solo 2 MAX delivers about 90% for under half the price).
| Heat-up | ~20 seconds |
| Battery | 10-14 bowls/charge |
| Oven | 0.25 g |
| Heating | Hybrid · up to 20 L/min airflow |
| Warranty | 2 yr (3 yr registered) |
Pros: 20 lpm airflow — triple the Mighty+, effortless draws; 20-second heat-up — fastest S&B portable; 10-14 bowls per charge; USB-C with optional supercharger; Vapour Quality 9.5/10 — joint-highest. Cons: the highest portable price in the lineup; larger and heavier than competitors; early units had QC issues, so buy from authorised dealers.
OG Kush — 8.5/10. The high-flow design keeps OG's sticky resin from clogging the airpath. Single-draw full extraction at 215°C. AVB medium-dark brown, complete edge to edge.
5. Storz & Bickel Mighty+ — Best Plug-and-Play Session 8.7/10
The Land Rover Defender. Not the highest composite, but the textbook session vape. Zero technique. Zero learning curve. Every bowl is identical. The "safe choice you'd recommend to your nan" of dry herb vapes.
Best for: First-timers with budget, plug-and-play purists, anyone who wants one vape forever. Skip if: you want pocket portability (it's a brick — 6.5/10) or value (the V3 Pro does most of this for less than a third).
| Heat-up | ~60 seconds |
| Battery | 6-8 sessions/charge |
| Oven | 0.25 g |
| Heating | Hybrid (convection-led) |
| Warranty | 2 yr (3 yr registered) |
Pros: Land Rover Defender reliability — every bowl identical; zero technique, zero learning curve; USB-C fast charging (full charge in 40 minutes with the supercharger); S&B medical-grade build, 2-year warranty; PEEK plastic survives drops. Cons: portability 6.5/10, it's a brick; cooling unit cleaning is the most faff in the lineup; real money for a device this size; no on-demand mode.
OG Kush — 8.5/10. The hybrid heater handles OG smoothly because the Mighty+ doesn't spike its temperature. Every draw is reliably OG. AVB textbook medium-dark brown.
6. Limelight Frolic — Best Hardest-Hitting Session 8.5/10
The Serbian PEEK outlier. The densest portable vapour I've ever pulled — Vapour Quality 9.5/10, joint-highest. Session mode delivers desktop-level power in a portable body.
Best for: Heavy daily users with high tolerance, power-hit chasers willing to back an underdog. Skip if: you want established-brand reliability (Mighty+ or Venty) or budget value.
| Heat-up | ~5 seconds (on-demand) |
| Battery | 6-10 bowls per 21700 cell (swappable) |
| Oven | ~0.25 g (PEEK chamber) |
| Heating | Hybrid 80/20 · up to 25 L/min airflow |
| Warranty | Manufacturer warranty |
Pros: Vapour Quality 9.5/10 — joint-highest in the lineup; PEEK chamber is heat-resistant, flavour-neutral and bulletproof; 21700 swappable cell for flagship battery economics; fold-out mouthpiece keeps it pocket-friendly. Cons: small Serbian production, so long-term reliability data is still building; flagship territory on price; not the most ergonomic in the hand; support is centralised in Serbia (expect timezone delays).
OG Kush — 9.0/10. PEEK chamber plus 25 L/min adjustable airflow handles OG's dense bud structure exceptionally well. Single-draw full extraction at 210°C without harshness. AVB even medium-dark brown.

7. AirVape Legacy Pro 2 — Best Hybrid Session 8.7/10
The flexible all-rounder. Hybrid heating, on-demand AND session modes, removable 18650, wireless charging, 1°C control.
Best for: Tinkerers, medical users who hate sealed batteries, both-modes switchers. Skip if: you want pure plug-and-play simplicity (Mighty+).
| Heat-up | ~15 seconds |
| Battery | 8-10 sessions/charge (removable 18650) |
| Oven | 0.3 g |
| Heating | Hybrid (session + on-demand) |
| Warranty | 3 yr |
Pros: both modes in one device; removable 18650 for long-term battery economics; wireless charging (only vape on this list with it); 1°C temperature control; a hybrid heater that delivers on the marketing. Cons: AirVape brand recognition isn't S&B-tier; the clamshell design divides opinion; technique-dependent (three sessions to learn the rhythm).
OG Kush — 8.0/10. Hybrid heating preserves the sweet-woody top. Both modes handle the myrcene transition cleanly. Full extraction at 210°C. AVB even medium-dark brown.
8. Storz & Bickel Crafty+ — Best Compact S&B Session 8.0/10
The Mighty+'s little brother. S&B medical-grade build in a body roughly half the size. Battery is the tax — 4-5 bowls per charge — but if you want S&B reliability in a jacket pocket, the Crafty+ is the answer.
Best for: S&B loyalists who need portability, Mighty+ owners wanting a more pocketable second device. Skip if: battery life is your top criterion (Mighty+ or Air MAX).
| Heat-up | ~80 seconds |
| Battery | 4-5 sessions/charge |
| Oven | 0.25 g |
| Heating | Hybrid |
| Warranty | 2 yr (3 yr registered) |
Pros: S&B medical-grade build at sub-£200; roughly half the size and weight of the Mighty+; USB-C with app control; same hybrid heater DNA as the Mighty+. Cons: 4-5 bowls per charge is the lowest in the lineup; sealed battery; 60-90 second heat-up.
OG Kush — 8.0/10. Same hybrid heater character as the Mighty+ in a smaller chamber. AVB textbook medium-dark brown.
9. Storz & Bickel Volcano Hybrid — Best Desktop Session 8.8/10
The reference desktop. Bags, whip, app, 60-second heat-up, the iconic Storz & Bickel build that lasts twenty-five years. The Michelin three-star desktop experience.
Best for: Home users, social hosts, buy-it-for-life buyers. Skip if: you need portability or you can't justify £400+.
| Heat-up | ~40 sec @ 180°C (~70-90s max) |
| Power | Plug-corded, 100W convection |
| Chamber | ~0.5 g |
| Delivery | Bag (Easy Valve) + whip + app workflows |
| Warranty | 3 yr |
Pros: reference desktop — bags and whip plus app control; ~90-second heat-up to operating temp (fastest Volcano); S&B 25-year reliability track record; app-controlled Workflows for repeatable sessions; Easy Valve system with disposable balloon set. Cons: the highest price in this guide; cooling unit cleaning is a weekly chore; app dependency for Workflows feels like overreach.
OG Kush — 9.5/10. Reference-tier OG Kush experience. Whip mode delivers draw-by-draw discrete extraction. Bag mode lets you taste every terpene stage in sequence. AVB even medium-dark brown, every bowl. The highest-scoring OG Kush device on this list.
10. XMAX V3 Pro — Best Budget Session 8.0/10
The Decathlon running shoes. £79.99 buys hybrid heating, removable 18650, USB-C, both modes. Value 9.5/10 — the highest in the lineup.
Best for: First-time buyers, value hunters, anyone who lends devices to mates. Skip if: you want premium build quality.
| Heat-up | ~15-30 seconds |
| Battery | 6-8 bowls per cell (removable 18650) |
| Oven | 0.15 g |
| Heating | Hybrid (session + on-demand) |
| Warranty | Manufacturer warranty |
Pros: Value 9.5/10 — highest in the lineup; removable 18650 (swap a £6 cell when it dies); USB-C with pass-through charging; both session and on-demand modes. Cons: build quality reflects the £79.99 price; mouthpiece is a consumable; Vapour Quality 8.0/10 — perfectly good, not flagship.
OG Kush — 7.5/10. Hybrid heating at this price tier suits OG well. Lemon-pine reads but with a slight plastic undertone. AVB medium-brown.

Tips for Session Vaping
Pack consistently. Inconsistent packing means inconsistent extraction across the bowl. Pack to the same density every time.
Stir at the halfway mark. Refreshes herb facing the heater and gets you the second half of the bowl with full flavour.
Use the temperature ladder. Start at 180°C, climb to 195°C mid-bowl, finish at 210°C. Each stage unlocks different terpenes.
Don't power-draw. Session vapes are designed for sustained, sip-style draws. Hard pulls cool the chamber and underperform.
Replace screens every 30-50 bowls. Resin builds fast on session vapes specifically because they cook continuously.
Clean weekly if daily-driving. Cooling units (Mighty+, Crafty+) need a deeper clean than glass-path vapes.
Pro tip: the single biggest upgrade to any session is a mid-bowl stir. Two minutes in, give it a quick stir — you'll get the back half of the bowl with the flavour the front half delivered.
Future-Proofing Assessment
Highest: Air MAX (swappable 26650), Legacy Pro 2 (removable 18650), V3 Pro (£6 cell swap).
Strong: Volcano Hybrid (25-year reliability, plug-corded), Solo 3 v2 (Arizer 5+ year support), Solo 2 MAX (5+ year support).
Mid: Mighty+, Venty, Crafty+ (sealed batteries but proven S&B support).
Lower: Limelight Frolic (small Serbian operation, support unproven over 5+ years).
Honourable Mentions
- Storz & Bickel Plenty (£167.99, 8.4/10) — densest desktop session. Polarising chassis, whip-only delivery. See Best Desktop Vaporizers.
- Volcano Classic (£266.99, 8.2/10) — bag-only desktop, 25 years of reliability, the original Volcano. See Best Desktop Vaporizers.
- XMAX V4 Pro (£89, 8.3/10) — pure-convection budget alternative to the V3 Pro. Slightly more flavour, more technique required.
Coming From Spliffs? Read This.
If you're here because you're trying to quit smoking tobacco with your weed, I see you. I was you. Eight years ago, I was rolling spliffs with half tobacco, half bud, wondering why I couldn't shake the habit.
Switching to vaping was harder than I expected — not because the devices didn't work, but because I was chasing the wrong thing. The throat hit. The ritual. The 50/50 mix.
Here's what helped: the Mighty+ at higher temps (200-210°C) for throat hit, a DynaVap for the ritual of doing something with your hands, and giving it two weeks before judging the experience.
I wrote a whole series on this: The Quit Combustion Series.
