Manual Vaporizers

A manual vaporizer has no battery and no electronics. You heat the tip with a torch lighter or an induction heater, and a temperature-sensitive cap clicks when the herb inside reaches vaporisation temperature, then clicks again as it cools. The devices here are mostly DynaVaps, which call themselves thermal extraction devices. They suit people who want something small, tough and off-grid, and who enjoy a hands-on ritual.

Every manual vape is tested on the same two-strain bench, the same one we use for battery devices, so you can see how they stack up. For quick, one-bowl use, see the best on-demand vaporizers of 2026. Individual verdicts include the DynaVap M7, the entry-level DynaVap B2 and the VonG X. The full range, including caps and heaters, is in the DynaVap collection.

Manual vaporizer questions

How does a manual vaporizer know when it is ready?

DynaVaps use a Captive Cap that clicks audibly when it reaches temperature. You stop heating at the click, draw, and it clicks again as it cools.

Torch or induction heater: which is better?

A torch lighter is cheap and portable. An induction heater is flameless, more repeatable and easier indoors, but it needs power. Many owners start with a torch and add an induction heater later.

Are manual vaporizers hard to learn?

There is a learning curve: how long to heat, how far to rotate, how fast to draw. Our M7 review is honest about the first week. The B2 is the gentlest place to start.

Can I use a manual vaporizer with a water pipe?

Many DynaVaps fit standard water-piece joints; the VonG X fits 10mm and 14mm natively. Check each product page for fit.
