The VonG X is DynaVap's most durable platform, and the engineering story is layered: reinforced stainless steel body (not hollow tubing, not thin-walled material), titanium cap and threaded interface components, heat-treated wooden midsection chosen specifically for moisture resistance, reinforced condenser designed to address the historic VonG weak point. Every component has been either upgraded or reinforced compared to standard VonG construction.

Weight tells the story. The VonG X is ~24g compared to the standard VonG (i)'s ~18g. That extra six grams is distributed deliberately — most of it in the thermal-battery tip, some in the reinforced body. The device has presence in the hand that lighter DynaVaps don't.

The heat-treated wood is the specific improvement worth calling out.
